It finally happened. After years of talking about it, my good friend Harjit Dhaliwal and I sat down to record the very first episode of our new community show: Debugged Dialogs.
This is something we have wanted to do for a long time. Harjit and I first met more than ten years ago at TechEd in New Orleans. Since then, we have crossed paths at countless events, stayed close through the Microsoft community, and built a strong friendship across the Atlantic. I live in Malmö, Sweden, and Harjit is based in Vermont, USA. Different time zones, different continents, but the same passion for technology and community.
The idea behind Debugged Dialogs is simple. No big scripts, no polished sales talk, just honest conversations about Microsoft 365, security, Copilot, patching, Windows, accessibility and whatever else is on our minds. Think of it as pulling up a chair, grabbing a coffee, and joining us for a chat.
In our first episode we cover a lot of ground. One of the big topics is Copilot. We talk about how confusing the branding has been with names shifting between Windows Copilot, Copilot in Windows, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Chat, GitHub Copilot, Security Copilot and more. Even people working inside Microsoft have struggled to keep it straight. We try to break it down in simple terms and talk about what really matters for IT pros and organizations trying to figure out where the value is.
We discuss a recent addition to the Microsoft 365 roadmap where non-licensed users will soon be able to pull Outlook emails into Copilot Chat via ContextIQ. That is the first time, that I know of, the free version is reaching into the Microsoft 365 workspace. We reflect on why Microsoft might be doing this, how it blurs the line between the free and licensed versions, and why it might be a smart way to get more people to see the value in upgrading to the full Microsoft 365 Copilot.
We also talk about the community. From Workplace Ninja Summit in Switzerland, to Teamsdagen in Stockholm where I will be speaking about accessibility, to Microsoft Ignite in San Francisco later this year, there are so many events that bring us together. Harjit is even taking on the role of community reporter at some of them, which will be fun to follow.
This is just the start. We plan to bring in guests from the community, share stories, and go deeper into topics like patch management, accessibility, and of course everything cloud.
We are learning as we go, but that is part of the fun. And this is where you come in. Please check out the show, give us feedback, and let us know what topics you would like us to cover. Even better, if you want to join us as a guest, reach out.
And yes, I am going to say it. Please like, subscribe and share. It really helps us keep the show going.
